I was born and raised on unceded Huetar land in San José, Costa Rica. Art is my prayer, meditation, and bridge to the Great Mystery. All of my work is fueled by the magic and deep connection I carry to the Mesoamerican rainforest and all its dwellers, and by ancestral memories that have whispered to me since I can remember.

Formally trained as a bioscientist and having struggled to accept the innate call to be an artist for most of my adult life, I now advocate normalizing being multifaceted as a part of the human experience and that it is ok to embody everything that you are meant to be, whether it makes sense to the status quo or not.

During my formal education, I completed graduate programs in biosciences. My experience working with life at the molecular level informs my art and further deepens my spirituality and perception of existence as mathematical and fractal. In parallel, over the last 16 years, I have invested, whenever possible, into studying graphic and website design, Intentional Creativity®, meditation, and other healing arts. I have taught classes ranging from molecular biology to genetics, artistic anatomy, yoga nidrā, and transformational art.

My preferred medium is ink on paper for illustrations, and acrylics or mixed media for our workshops. After meeting various indigenous leaders at a UNESCO conference in 2018, my artwork pivoted into artivism—bringing awareness to the imperative need to protect our ecosystems and amplifying indigenous wisdom and their cosmovisions in the Americas. My work has been featured in indie publications and international fundraising events.

My body of work is known as Contemplative Art Meditationsᵀᴹ and it serves as its own medium for people to color the illustrations, often accompanied by journaling prompts, poems, music, and guided meditation. As a creativity doula, my mission is to anchor creative sanctuary in this world through my artwork, workshops, and design services.
